Jim Carrey was a bankable comic star in the 90s. His physicality and silly voices made him a favorite for family movies and he started racking up the hits, from "The Grinch" to "The Mask" and "Dumb and Dumber", which has since become a classic.
More than 20 years on, people don't hear much of Carrey and in between, he's had some bad press. He was no longer the slapstick comic that everyone wanted to see. Now, he's making a fresh return to screens with a brand new comedy series called "Kidding" and a role in "Sonic The Hedgehog", which will be released in early 2020. But, what happened and why did the star shy away from the spotlight for so long?
